The presidentof the Aztec Chamber of Commerce wrote New Mexico Senator Dennis Chavesurging repairs. Faris grossly underestimated repaircosts, originally requesting just $300 per year. The condition of the West Ruin needed promptattention. Fifty years later many of the things accomplishedthen continue to enrich the public property.
